So... I have a bespoke suit tailoring company, and a few years ago when the database was at about 20,000 and we did newsletters. We don't really do offers, but every now and then we would do an offer, and it was a BIG DEAL. It's called King & Allen, and Allen does the processes and keeps the cogs turning, and my job is all kind of sales-y, marketing-y stuff. This was entirely on me. I sent out an email to everyone in the database, just the 20,000....Offering a free shit with every suit.
That was a bit of a fuck-up, but people saw the funny side, and, you know, we got to laugh about it, just that little missing R made all the difference.
